ALEXANDRA LEIGHTON is a landscape designer and sole proprietor of Garden Schemes. As a plantswoman, Ms. Leighton’s work is sensitive to the horticultural demands of the site and its architectural context. Her work ranges in scale from comprehensive estate plans on the North Shore of Long Island to small town gardens in New York City and its nearby suburbs. In addition Ms. Leighton represents a number of garden furniture lines, has overseen construction of greenhouses and conservatories as well as commissions for sculpture and its installation. Her collections of garden ornaments and treillage, antique or contemporary, add a personal signature to her compositions.
